Organising the perfect Virtual Summer Party.

With more and more companies working from home for the foreseeable future, we are seeing a real shift in traditional office parties turning virtual. After all, a virtual party is the next best thing (we all need an excuse to let our hair down every now and then) and companies are fortunately recognising the importance of uniting their teams during this time. In fact, one could argue that employee engagement, celebrating success and motivating staff is even more important at the moment, hence the need for a fabulous and totally extravagant party!

As a hub for activities for virtual hangouts, celebrations and parties, we have an incredible array of options for you to choose from. Over the past few weeks we have been helping more and more clients organise their company parties. We’ve seen everything from small businesses looking for an afternoon of fun to larger companies wanting a full blown virtual festival! The options and possibilities are endless!

For all of you out there looking for some advice on where to begin - here is our tried and tested formula for organising and running a successful virtual summer party.

The recipe for success.

When hosting a virtual party there are 4 things that can turn an ordinary summer party into a truly memorable celebration for everyone involved.

We call this our recipe for success.

Hype + Activity + Drinks + Entertainment =

The Perfect Virtual Summer Party

1) Create Hype.

Firstly, get everyone excited!

Depending on your budget, this simply could be creating some teaser email invitations, sending a series of ‘reveal’ emails announcing the different activities at the party, or a countdown. You could run some competitions asking people to come up with the best fancy dress theme, or nominating someone to do a forfeit at the conference.

Or, if you’ve got the budget to splash the cash then why not create some hampers or packs to send to every employee? There is nothing better than opening up a surprise parcel with all sorts of goodies inside. The goodies could be branded items, things that are needed for the party itself, or just fun things to wear, eat or drink during the event.

2) Hands On Activity.

We recommend that you include at least one activity where every employee can get involved and feel like they are participating and contributing to the event.

Ideas could include:

  • Balloon Making Workshop - This is the perfect opportunity to make a balloon accessory to wear for the rest of the day! You could learn how to make a balloon hat or bracelet for example. Your host, Miss Ballooniverse is the queen of balloons and a fabulous natural entertainer who will get everyone involved!

  • Musical Bingo - This is a great virtual experience for teams who love to boogie. Use your virtual bingo card to dab off the songs as you hear them! It’s also a great experience if you want to gift your team with prizes.

  • Escape Room - This is also a fabulous team building activity. The company will be split into groups of between 4 and 8. Each group will then be sent to separate Zoom rooms where they have 60 minutes to ‘escape’! You will have 7 puzzles and challenges to complete, with each one revealing a different letter. All the letters combined make up a word which then unlocks a virtual treasure chest! The fastest group to escape wins!

  • Virtual Magic Show - Prepare to be amazed by this totally immersive magic show. It involves audience participation so get ready to be part of some of the magic!

3) Drinks.

It wouldn’t be a summer party without a few drinks! We have all sorts of different virtual tasting offerings or alternatively can send pre-made drinks selections to employees so they can enjoy a couple of drinks throughout the party. We also have mocktail alternatives.

Also - some of these tastings could also double up and be your hands on ‘activity’ too.

  • Wine Tasting - Receive 5 different wines to try in a 90 minute tasting with our incredible Sommelier. Choose between 6 different wine tasting packages. We have everything from wine & cheese pairing to a white wine only package.

  • Gin Tasting - Receive your very on mini gin bar! Throughout the tasting you will get to make and drink 4 different gin drinks as well as learning all about the history of gin and the place gin has in society today.

  • Cocktail Making - You will receive all of the ingredients you need to make 3 different cocktails; a Pornstar Martini, a Mojito and an Expresso Martini. A professional mixologist will teach you how to create and shake your cocktails!

  • Beer Tasting - Your very own beer sommelier will take you on a journey to try 4 different beers

4) Entertainment.

Round off the party with some entertainment! By this point everyone will want a good dance!

  • Live DJ Set - This is a rare chance to have a private party with the renowned DJ TP. He will provide the very best tunes, completely tailored to your requests. He can even put your company logo on a big screen behind his decks, and record the set for you as a memento!

Nailing the logistics.

If you are organising a party for a large group, speak to us about the logistics. The devil is in the detail!

We can organise for you to have a professional host to ensure the event runs smoothly. We have a fabulous host who is also a comedian and will be sure to entertain everyone throughout the party! Plus we can also advise on splitting the company into smaller groups who will rotate around different activities in different Zoom Rooms to ensure that everything is as interactive as possible.
