What is it? Learn the tricks of the trade from our amazing caricature artist! Learn about the techniques to master the art of capturing each individual in a comical stylised portrait, choose between sketching your team or a famous celebrity. Or choose to have portraits created for you as a virtual event add-on!
How is it hosted? Hosted on Zoom or preferred video by one our caricature artist Steve.

How much is it? £300 + VAT for up to 12 people, then £20pp + VAT thereafter.
What does the Virtual Caricature Workshop entail?
Caricature workshops offer a unique and engaging way to explore creativity, enhance artistic skills, and inject a dose of fun into corporate team-building activities. Whether you're looking to foster creativity, promote teamwork, or simply provide an enjoyable experience for your employees, caricature workshops are an excellent choice.
You will be taught the basic proportions of the face as a springboard for exaggeration, observation and some serious cartooning fun! Using your new found drawing skills you will try to draw members of your team or a celebrity.
It’s a great way to unleash your inner artist and learn some 'tricks of the trade'!
Available options.
Sketching the team
Steve will draw along with you in real time and show you, line by line, his basic and achievable methods of observing, simplifying and capturing the main facial features. He'll then sketch 2 to 4 team members along with you, putting those methods into practice to create a fun, cartoony impression of each subject. The 'team models' can either be chosen in advance by yourselves, or volunteer to be drawn on the day, or Steve will choose them. Steve's style is cartoony but complimentary, fun but inoffensive, but please make sure anyone participating is comfortable with being drawn. Steve will make scans of the caricatures he does for you, and take screenshots which will be sent alongside his sketches to celebrate your work. You'll be surprised what you can achieve in an hour!
Celebrity caricaturing
Learn about the techniques to master the art of capturing your chosen celebrity in a comical stylised portrait! Steve will begin by revealing some observational methods and shortcut tricks to capturing the main features as you draw them along with him. Then your group will sketch 2 celebrities of your choice along with Steve, line by line in real time, using those methods. Your team will need to choose 2 celebrities from a list provided in advance. Steve has chosen celebrities which can fit into various themed days, such as Women's History, Black History or Pride Month celebrations. You're welcome to add a favourite quote from your celebrity onto your drawings, to give them more impact and meaning - Steve usually has a few to hand, as they are all figures who are inspirational and iconic to him!
Materials needed.
Clear working space
4 or 5 sheets of blank A4 paper
At least one or two HB to 4B pencils
Pencil sharpener
Eraser
Black marker pens - Sharpies are recommended, or brush pens for the confident/experienced; even black felt tips will do. Steve suggests having a standard/medium tip marker plus a thick one if possible (think board marker thickness, or chisel tip Sharpie).

Steve is a trained art teacher and portrait artist who started selling his work at 14 years of age and attained his B.A. in Graphic Design at Central St Martin's in 1990. He has been merrily capturing guests with his speed sketching skills at weddings, hen nights, mitzvahs, birthdays and corporate events ever since.

Steve will charm the attendees with lively conversation whilst capturing the guest’s portraits. The host will receive digital portraits of everyone attending to pass on to their guests. The background of these images can be personalised with a company logo, if you wish!

Surprise them with a visit from our artist, who will digitally draw them in either a complimentary or comical style! They can add a little note to the masterpiece, which can then be shared with you to frame and keep as a memento.
