The Nervous System at Work.
Understanding ourselves to transform how we work together.
What is it? This workshop focuses on three practical steps that help people understand - and work with - their nervous system to shape how they handle stress, manage change and connect with others. The sessions blend accessible science-based teaching, mindful awareness of your own nervous system, hands-on practice and simple, reliable tools you can use the same day. No prior knowledge is needed, with no requirement to share anything unless you’re happy to do so.
How long is it? Our sessions range from 60 minutes to a full-day workshop. Please see below for details.
How is it hosted? This experience is available online, with no prior knowledge or experience required. Participation is always invitational, with nothing recorded and all discussions kept confidential. Sessions work best if participants choose to join from a quiet, private room.
How much is it? Please see below..
What are the options?
Regulate - understanding the nervous system.
We all experience multiple stressors throughout our day. News, emails, meetings, deadlines. And stress directly impacts how we think, communicate and make decisions. By understanding the physiology behind our behavioural responses, we gain the awareness needed to interrupt automatic reactions and begin responding with greater choice. This keynote session combines accessible science, practical experience and immediate application.
Participants will:
Understand the essentials of Polyvagal Theory and the physiology of stress
Experience what nervous system activation feels like in real time
Recognise the early signs of dis-regulation
Learn a practical regulation technique they can use immediately
Begin noticing how nervous system states influence everyday interactions
60 minutes
Suitable for all group sizes
£1,650 + VAT
Reflect - working with your own nervous system.
Understanding the patterns of our own nervous systems - seeing how we each react to challenges around us - teaches us how to work with what’s evolving in real time. Rather than judging those reactions as good or bad, we learn to view them as valuable information. Through the application of science, guided reflection and practical mindfulness, participants develop greater self-awareness using practical reflection tools to increase confidence in responding thoughtfully rather than automatically.
Participants will:
Identify their own primary nervous system response
Explore common workplace triggers
Observe how their own regulation influences the wider team
Discover ways to build psychological safety, for themselves and others
Understand no nervous system response is better or worse than another
Recognise patterns and explore ways to transform them
3 hours integrated session
Minimum 6 and maximum 16 participants
£3,100 + VAT
Respond - turning awareness into wise action.
The full-day programme unpacks each stage of the model: Regulate, Reflect, Respond. Participants deepen their understanding of the nervous system while exploring how awareness creates wiser leadership, healthier communication and more resilient teams. This is where participants begin transforming their default responses into conscious strengths.
Participants will:
Learn the science behind nervous system regulation
Understand how life experience shapes stress responses
Distinguish evidence from assumption to help manage reactions
Develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the people around them
Recognise the breadth of environmental influences on behaviour
Move toward communication from a place of regulation rather than reaction
Understand how their nervous system shapes the nervous systems of the people around them
Full day immersive workshop
Minimum 6 and maximum 12 participants
£4,200 + VAT
Why Understanding the Nervous System Matters at Work?
Every person brings their nervous system to work. The way we think, communicate, make decisions and respond to challenge is influenced not only by our skills and experience, but also by whether our nervous system perceives the environment as safe or threatening.
This Polyvagal informed training provides a practical framework for understanding these biological responses. Rather than viewing stress reactions as problems, it helps us recognise them as natural, adaptive responses that can be understood and worked with. When individuals develop greater awareness of their nervous system, they are better able to recognise the early signs of stress, regulate their responses and approach challenges with greater clarity and intention. This leads to more effective communication, healthier relationships, improved decision-making and increased resilience.
For organisations, the benefits extend beyond individual wellbeing. Teams in which people understand their own nervous system - and appreciate that everyone else’s operates in the same way - are often more collaborative, more compassionate and better equipped to navigate change and uncertainty. Our training is not about fixing people or expecting them to remain calm at all times. It is about helping people better understand themselves and each other, creating the conditions for thoughtful responses rather than automatic reactions. When people understand their nervous system, they free up more of their capacity for creativity, sound judgement and problem-solving. In doing so, they contribute not only to their own wellbeing, but also to healthier teams and more effective organisations.
