What is it? The Creative Bridge Challenge is a collaborative team-building experience where teams work together to design and build a bridge using a limited selection of everyday and creative materials. As the challenge unfolds, teams may face an unexpected change to the brief, putting their communication, adaptability and problem-solving skills to the test.
How long is it? The standard experience lasts approximately 2–2.5 hours.
How is it hosted? The experience is fully facilitated by an experienced host, with all specialist materials, challenge resources and facilitation provided.
How much is it? From £750 + VAT for up to 12 participants, with pricing increasing according to group size. Travel charges may apply.
Where can this be hosted? The event can be hosted at your office or a venue of your choice across the UK.
How Does the Creative Bridge Challenge Work?
The Creative Bridge Challenge gives teams a practical opportunity to explore how they communicate, collaborate, make decisions and respond to change. Through the facilitated reflection, participants can connect the experience back to their everyday working relationships while enjoying a fun, creative and low-pressure team-building activity.
Build the bridge: Teams are given a deceptively simple brief to design and build a bridge, using materials such as cardboard, paper, newspaper, masking tape, string and elastic bands, that spans a set distance and can support a test load.
Plan and collaborate: Teams decide on their approach, allocate responsibilities and work together to turn their ideas into a finished bridge, encouraging communication, planning and delegation.
Adapt to change: An unexpected change to the brief may be introduced during the challenge, requiring teams to rethink their plans, respond to new information and adapt under light-hearted pressure.
Put it to the test: Once the bridges are complete, each team puts its creation to the test, adding a fun and engaging element of anticipation and friendly competition.
The experience finishes with a facilitated reflection, giving participants the opportunity to consider how they communicated, made decisions, allocated roles and responded to setbacks.

Tim is a practising artist, creative educator and experienced workshop facilitator with over 10 years’ experience delivering engaging creative experiences for schools, organisations and community groups.
With a background in Fine Art, education and facilitation, Tim creates friendly, inclusive sessions that encourage people to make, experiment, communicate and solve problems together. His approach is energetic and accessible, ensuring everyone can get involved regardless of their artistic experience or confidence.

Ideally, the venue should provide a reasonably sized room, tables or work surfaces, chairs and clear space for testing the finished bridges. A whiteboard or flip-chart and paper are also useful for the facilitated session. No specialist art facilities are required.

All specialist materials and challenge resources are provided, including construction materials, planning resources, challenge cards, testing materials and facilitator resources.

Allow approximately 30–45 minutes for set-up and 20–30 minutes for pack-down. Larger groups or more complex venue arrangements may require additional time.

The ideal group size is 8–30 participants, with participants working in smaller teams. Groups of more than 30 can be accommodated with an adapted format and additional facilitation, so please enquire for a bespoke quote.

Not at all. The challenge is focused on teamwork, problem-solving and creative thinking rather than artistic or construction ability. Everyone can contribute through planning, communication, organisation, leadership, building or problem-solving.

The finished bridges can be photographed before being dismantled. Materials can then be separated for reuse or recycled where possible.
