What is it? Step into the world of Ottoman artistry with a hands-on Iznik Tile Painting Workshop, where creativity meets culture. Inspired by the traditional ceramic art of 16th and 17th century Ottoman Türkiye, this immersive experience invites teams to explore the history, symbolism, and techniques behind one of the world’s most recognisable decorative art forms. They will then choose from a selection of authentic Ottoman-inspired designs to create their own hand-painted ceramic tile to take home. To make the experience even more special, we also include an authentic Turkish delight (may include nuts) and Turkish tea experience.
How long is it? The workshop will last 2 hours.
How is it hosted? It is a fully facilitated experience taking participants on a Turkish art and cultural journey. At the beginning, we will give a short introduction to the history and meaning behind Iznik tile art and its traditional motifs. Participants will then choose their favourite pre-designed traditional motif and select their own colours before painting their ceramic tile. All designs are prepared in advance, allowing everyone to enjoy a relaxing and creative painting experience while learning about this unique Turkish art form.
How much is it? £49pp + VAT. Minimum spend is £980 + VAT.
Where can this be hosted? The workshop can be hosted at your office or a venue of your choice. We require tables and chairs for participants, a well-lit workspace and a small additional table for my materials.

The workshop is inspired by 16th and 17th century Ottoman İznik tile painting, one of the finest artistic traditions of the Ottoman Empire. İznik tiles were used to decorate palaces, mosques, mausoleums and many important public buildings. The workshop features traditional Ottoman floral motifs, including tulips, carnations, hyacinths, roses, Hatayi and Rumi designs. These motifs symbolise the beauty of nature, harmony and the elegance of Ottoman art. During the workshop, participants will discover the history and cultural significance of this unique art form while learning the traditional tile-painting technique.

Meet your host.
Serife is a native Turk who grew up in old Town Istanbul . She takes great pride in being part of a family tradition of mosaic light-making and Iznik tile painting, which has been passed down through three generations. She learned tile painting and mosaic lamp making from her father, at their family shop, while growing up in Istanbul. In addition to selling her beautiful pieces, she also love to run workshops for team building activities.

We bring all items needed for teh workshop including:
Ceramic tile for each participant
Paints and brushes
All creative materials
Demonstration and guidance from an experienced facilitator
Turkish tea and Turkish delight (may contain nuts) can also be included, creating a complete cultural experience inspired by Turkish traditions.

We require around 30 minutes for setup and 20 minutes for pack-down.

The minimum booking is 20 participants, and the maximum is 40 participants. Larger groups can be discussed upon request.

Not at all. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, with step-by-step guidance provided throughout.

No. Participants can choose from a selection of traditional Ottoman floral motifs, allowing everyone to create their own unique tile.

Yes. The paints dry quickly, meaning participants can safely take their finished tiles home at the end of the session. Please note that the frames are not included. Guests are encouraged to get the tiles framed themselves and display at their houses.
